Smart Medical Group SL was formed by Luis Collantes and Hubert Thomassen in June 2002 to perform a management buy out of the Albyn Medical businesses. The Group is located in Pamplona - Spain.

The Smart Medical Group SL organisation serves as the holding company of the group to manage:

• Financing and financial control of the businesses
• Managing the intellectual property rights
• Monitoring the international distribution rights
• Expressing the vision and leadership model of the Group

The Smart Medical Group manages companies that concentrate on design, manufacture, commercialisation and distribution of products for two disciplines, Urodynamics and Gastrointestinal Motility. We also distribute other products, in certain markets, which compliment our own range within the Urology, Gynaecology and Gastroenterology fields. Our product portfolio is expanding to include patient treatments and therapies, which follow diagnosis of urinary and digestive disorders.

Urodynamics The products are concerned with the assessment of bladder function - most commonly urinary incontinence or voiding dysfunction.

Gastrointestinal Motility The study of pressure patterns and related measurements to assess the (dys)function of the gastro-intestinal tract.
